The Baltimore Ravens will be without veteran wide receiver Rashod Bateman for Sunday’s pivotal road clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
2025 has been a frustrating season for Rashod Bateman and the Baltimore offense. Unfortunately, he won’t have the chance to help extend the Ravens’ season when they take on the Steelers for the AFC North division crown on “Sunday Night Football.”
On Saturday evening, the Ravens announced on X/Twitter that Bateman will miss Sunday’s game with an illness. As such, his 2025 season will be over if Baltimore loses its win-or-go-home game.
Baltimore kept its season alive with a 41-24 road win over the Green Bay Packers last week, and with the Steelers losing to the Cleveland Browns. The losing team will miss the postseason.
After three frustrating years to begin his career, the big-bodied receiver finally showed signs of breaking out in 2024. Bateman had a career year with 45 receptions for 765 yards and nine touchdowns.
But Bateman was unable to build upon his career year in 2025. He finished with 13 games played and caught just 19 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns, posting the worst season of his career.
Baltimore used its first-round pick on Bateman, hoping he could fill the No. 1 receiver role. However, injuries and inconsistent production have limited him from fulfilling his potential thus far.
Don’t be surprised if the Ravens decide to move on after the season and give Bateman the fresh start he probably needs.
