Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Quinyon Mitchell proved he truly fears no one but God by picking a fight with Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs. He did not back down.
Although his decision was ill-advised, you must respect his cajones.
The two former first round picks were eventually separated by NFL officials. The smaller of the two received a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for his behavior.
The whole thing started when Baker Mayfield threw an interception during the first quarter. However, the play was overturned as an incomplete pass. No harm, no foul… until there was both harm and foul.
Mayfield immediately started chirping at Mitchell as soon as the ball hit the ground. He wanted all the smoke but his offensive line would not let him get after it. They stepped in front of their quarterback to protect him.
Mitchell did not care who challenged him. The 24-year-old defensive back kept that same energy.
He grabbed ahold of Wirfs’ jersey and facemask to get right up in his face and eventually ripped the helmet off of his head.
