Shane Tamura shot multiple people at a corporate skyscraper in New York City. He killed four people Monday night when he opened fire at 345 Park Avenue, a corporate skyscraper that houses the NFL’s and investment firm Blackstone’s headquarters.

According to authorities, the 27-year-old shooter from Las Vegas had a history of mental health problems. It made many wonder how he was able to get his hands on a weapon.

A report from the Associated Press has since revealed where he got the gun.

A supervisor at the Las Vegas casino where Shane worked legally purchased the gun used in the Midtown Manhattan shooting and sold it to him for $1,400.

The 27-year-old walked into 345 Park Avenue on Monday carrying an M4 assault-style rifle and opened fire, police said, killing four people and injuring another before he died by suicide.

After an interview with the supervisor, investigators learned that the supervisor had bought the assault rifle in August 2024 and assembled it before selling it to Shane Tamura.

Tamura drove more than 2,000 miles from his home in Las Vegas to New York City to carry out the attack, authorities allege.

NYPD detectives would then travel to Las Vegas to serve a search warrant on Tamura’s apartment and interview people who knew and worked with the suspect.

Authorities Find Second Suicide Note of Shane Tamura

Upon showing up at Tamura’s apartment and searching it, cops found an apparent suicide note he left for his mother and father.

It said in part, “When I look into you, and dad’s eyes, all I see is disappointment. I love you, Mama. I’m sorry.”

Cops also found multiple prescription bottles. The medications included antidepressants, anti-psychotics, anti-epileptics, and anti-inflammatories.
