Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has revealed that the NFL world has been pronouncing his name wrong for years. The 23-year-old tailback also provided football fans with the proper name.
During an interview with NFL Network — which is reportedly close to being acquired by ESPN in a massive deal — over the weekend, Bijan Robinson was asked by the host to tell the world how to properly pronounce is name and the Pro Bowl running back clarified that it isn’t pronounced “Bee-jon”, like dijon mustard, but is instead pronounced like “Buh-Jean,” like — “Bu” in bus and “Jean” in Jean-Claude Van Damme.
“Alright, how you pronounce my name is, Buh-Jan, for everybody that’s out there. I know a lot of people say BEE-zhon, but it’s Buh-Jean,” Robinson said. ” > This is how to pronounce @Bijan5Robinson's first name, straight from the man himself

Last year, his second season in the National Football League with the Atlanta Falcons, Robinson was named to his first ever Pro Bowl after posting a career high in carries (304), rushing yards (1,456), rushing touchdowns (14), and receptions (61).
The Falcons drafted Robinson out of the University of Texas with the 8th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after a three-year career with the Texas Longhorns that saw him carry the balls 539 times for 3,410 yards and 33 touchdowns, in addition to 60 catches for 805 yards and eight touchdowns.
This offseason, 2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl champion Saquon Barkley — widely considered to be the best running back in the NFL right now — was full of praise for Robinson, saying no one in the league can “cut” like he can.
“There’s nobody who’s able to cut like Bijan in the NFL. There’s not. You can go argue your mom about that. Trust me, I love myself and I think I have great cuts. There’s nobody. It’s finna get scary for a lot of people as he continues to figure it out,” Barkley said.
