Veteran wide receiver DJ Chark is finally off the market.

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport, the Atlanta Falcons have signed DJ Chark to a one-year contract. The 28-year-old visited Atlanta earlier in the day, per Garafolo, agreeing to a deal after briefly considering retirement.

Drafted 61st overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018, Chark earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2019 after catching 73 passes for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns. Chark, however, hasn’t come close to those numbers ever since.

After four seasons in Jacksonville, Chark landed with the Detroit Lions in 2022. He caught 35 passes for 525 yards and five touchdowns, turning that into a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers.

Despite being stuck on football’s worst team of 2023, DJ Chark hauled in 35 passes for 525 yards and five touchdowns. He signed with Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers in free agency, but injuries limited Chark to seven games with his new club (he caught four passes for 31 yards and one touchdown.

Chark joins a deep Atlanta offense led by second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr., tight end Kyle Pitts, star running back Bijan Robinson and a pair of 1,000-yard receivers in Drake London and Darnell Mooney.

For his career, DJ Chark has 216 receptions for 3,100 yards and 24 touchdowns in 76 games.

Chark will make his Atlanta debut on Sept. 7, when the Falcons play host to Baker Mayfield and the NFC South rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1:00 p.m. EST) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Despite missing the playoffs last year with an 8-9 record, the Falcons swept the season series against the Bucs, who went on to claim their fourth straight division crown with a 10-7 record.
