We are just about half an hour away from kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium for the Minnesota Vikings’ home opener, as they’re set to face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. Here’s everything you need to know in order to be up to speed for tonight’s contest.
Date and Time: Sunday, 14 September 2025, 7:15 PM Central
Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Television Coverage: NBC (including KARE-11 in the Twin Cities), Peacock
Radio Coverage: Vikings Radio Network affiliates, SiriusXM Channel 88 & 225, SiriusXM App Channel 820
Line: Vikings -3.5, over/under 43.5
Chris’ Prediction: Vikings 27, Falcons 17
Three Keys
1) Be on Bijan – The Falcons’ offense features one of the NFL’s best running backs in Bijan Robinson, and one of the best tandems when you pair Robinson with Tyler Allegier. The Falcons are going to want to get the run game going in an effort to make things easier for Michael Penix Jr., so it’s the Vikings’ job to slow the run game down and allow themselves to bring their blitzes against Penix in long yardage situations.
2) Get J.J. Comfortable Early – We all know how much the Vikings’ offense struggled early in last week’s game, and they need to do what they can to avoid that. Like I just mentioned with the Falcons, the Vikings would be wise to use an early dose of Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason in order to get things in a rhythm and make things a little easier for their young quarterback.
3) Next Man Up – The Vikings are missing a few key pieces in this one, as Andrew Van Ginkel will sit things out with a concussion and Christian Darrisaw will remain sidelined for another week. This team absolutely needs a better performance out of Justin Skule at left tackle than they got last week, and we’re really going to get a good look at Dallas Turner as he’ll make his first NFL start. Hopefully they can fill the holes left by the absence of these two Vikings stars.

There you have it, folks. . .you’re now completely up to speed on today’s game. As always, we’ll be dropping a brand new Open Thread at the start of every quarter, so be sure to keep your eyes open for that and move the discussion along accordingly.
Here’s hoping that, in about three hours or so, we’ll be talking about how awesome it is that our favorite team has another prime time win under their belts and that we’re on to Cincinnati.
SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
