Bill Belichick’s first season as the head coach of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels football team has been nothing short of a disaster, both on and off the field. Not only is UNC struggling to win games, but Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson have been a seemingly endless source of controversy.

Despite how much of a mess his first year at UNC has been, however, Bill Belichick remains Bill Belichick, and that’s one of, if not the best coach in NFL history.

As such, reports from NFL insider Josina Anderson are indicating that “at least” two NFL teams could be interested in hiring Belichick should he depart from North Carolina this offseason, as he still has “deep respect from a number of owners across the league.”

NFL insider Josina Anderson reports that “at least two” NFL teams could have interest in hiring Bill Belichick if he became available

“I’m told ‘at least two NFL teams’ are still expected to have interest in talking to Bill Belichick, behind-the-scenes at the very least, about head coach jobs this carousel season, per a league source,” Anderson reported.

“A third team could also enter the mix, with desires to talk, particularly if one specific personnel change is made under ownership, the source added.”

As for who those teams could be, there are a few likely suspects:

Which NFL teams would most likely be interested in hiring Bill Belichick in 2026?

The Cleveland Browns are liable to do anything at any moment, especially if it will make a splash (i.e. Shedeur Sanders). While current head coach Kevin Stefanski is widely seen as a solid head coach, the Browns may see hiring Belichick as an opportunity that can’t refuse.

Then there are the New York Giants, who Belichick has past connections to and were rumored to be interested in the six-time Super Bowl winner prior to his landing at UNC. With the Giants becoming the second team to fire their head coach this season, the job’s already open, too.

The first team to fire their head coach this year were the Tennessee Titans, who have been egregiously mismanaged since owner Amy Adams Strunk took majority control in 2020, and are currently the sort of franchise that would attempt a quick fix with Belichick.

Finally, there are the Las Vegas Raiders, who now boast Tom Brady as a minor owner. Although Pete Carroll is in his first season with the team, the Raiders have largely looked like the worst team in the NFL, creating the potential for the marriage to be a short one.

While Brady and Belichick did end their relationship...
