Ashton Kutcher is a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. He once joked that a regular-season game was “the most important day in human history.” So fans noticed right away when he missed one of the Bears’ biggest games in years.

Kutcher did not attend the NFC Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers because he was at the Golden Globes with his wife, Mila Kunis. It was their first time walking an awards red carpet together in four years. The appearance drew attention for several reasons, but Bears fans mainly focused on the game he missed.

The Bears still delivered a classic game, even after a massive brawl broke out between the teams before kickoff. Chicago trailed 21-6 at halftime but stormed back to shock Green Bay 31-27. The Bears scored 25 points in the fourth quarter alone. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 361 yards and led the game-winning drive late. The win marked Chicago’s first playoff victory in 15 years.

Inside Kutcher’s Film Room Mindset

Kutcher never stopped following the Bears. On a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, he just proved how closely he watches the game, and for that, Bears general manager Ryan Poles gave him his phone number, and he uses it often.

“Ryan Poles made the mistake of giving me his phone number,” Kutcher said. “I blow him up about things that I see.”

Kutcher described details most fans miss. He pointed out rookie Luther Burden’s habits during preseason games. “When it was a run play, he left his mouthpiece out every single time,” Kutcher said. “He’s telling on every down.”

Kutcher also broke down defensive patterns. He said the Packers fall into a “fuzzy zone” when they blitz. He noted run tendencies based on Josh Jacobs’ pre-snap alignment. “If he lines up a little deeper, it’s likely to run on the outside,” he said.

Weeks earlier, Kutcher fueled hype on Instagram before a Week 16 showdown with Green Bay. “I’m not one to really exaggerate, so I’m going to try to keep this simple and factual, today is probably the most important day in the history of humankind,” he said. “It is the 211th meeting of the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.”

That game lived up to his words. The Bears won 22-16 in overtime, with Caleb Williams throwing the game-winning touchdown. It was Chicago’s first home win over Green Bay since 2018.

Kutcher grew up in Iowa, where the Chicago Bears were the closest NFL team. He became a Bears fan early and never moved on.
