The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be one of the must-watch teams in the National Football League this season. Not because they’re expected to be dominant — far from it, in fact, as they have the same Super Bowl betting odds as the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals — but because they have such a high potential for implosion.

Just this offseason, the Steelers have added three massive and highly-divisive personalities to their locker room: wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and, of course, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is perhaps the most controversial player in the NFL.

As if those weren’t enough ingredients for potential disaster, new reports indicate that the similarly egomaniacal Odell Beckham Jr. has had talks with Rodgers about signing with the team.

Wide reciever Odell Beckham Jr. said he’s had conversations with Aaron Rodgers about joining the Steelers

“I love him; we’ve had conversations,” OBJ said of Rodgers on Bill Maher’s podcast. “I won’t say that it’s not a possibility and I won’t say that I haven’t had any communications.”

“I f—— love [Mike] Tomlin. I was actually supposed to be drafted to the Steelers. That was the meeting that I had that I was like, ‘I think I’m going to the Steelers.’ And the Giants ended up taking me at twelve.”

While Beckham’s comments came in late June, he’s remained a free agent ever since. Earlier this week, however, it was reported by NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero that Beckham has “drawn interest from several teams” and plans to play next season. It’s unclear if the Steelers are one of those reportedly interested teams.

Regardless of where OBJ ultimately signs, if at all, he’ll be nothing more than a depth signing as he hasn’t had mroe than 35 catches in a season since 2019, which was also his last 1,000 yard season in the NFL.
