Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II only has one complaint with his team’s 2025 schedule.
Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II weighed in on his team’s 2025 schedule and he has just one complaint.
“I just look to see where the night games are and the far trips. It fell alright. I think the only complaint I have is a night game on the west coast,” Rooney said. “It’s something I prefer to avoid, but we’ve got one of those this year. These things happen.”

Rooney is referencing the Steelers Week 10 trip to Los Angeles when they will take on the Chargers on “Sunday Night Football.” It is the only time Pittsburgh will travel to the Pacific Time Zone, but that doesn’t make it any easier.
The good thing is the Steelers have a home game against the Chicago Bears the following week at 1:00 p.m.
“It is better they’re spread out,” Rooney said. “The night games are spread out. So I think from that point of view, it works okay.”
Another part of the schedule Rooney came away much happier with compared to a year ago is when Pittsburgh takes on its AFC North rivals. In 2024, the team didn’t start facing its divisional opponents until Week 11.
This season, it’s much more spread out with the Steelers’ first two AFC North matchups coming in Weeks 6 and 7 against the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. Pittsburgh then finishes the season with back-to-back games versus the Browns and Baltimore Ravens.
“I definitely like it being spread out a little more and not waiting until Week 11 to start the division games,” Rooney said. “So I think that part of it worked out pretty well.”
