Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II raved about four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ during an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio at St. Vincent College.
“You know, the thing that’s been impressive, for me at least, is just all the off the field kind of stuff,” Rooney said. “I mean just his attitude, he’s welcoming to be part of the team, and the teammates love him. It’s been great, and we’re looking forward to getting started with him for sure.
“He’s really enjoying all of this, and taking it all in. Every day seems to be a new day that he’s finding something new and fun to deal with here in Latrobe.”
Rodgers has nothing but gratitude toward the Steelers.
“I’m getting more comfortable as the days go on. If I can sum up my feelings about being in Pittsburgh, it’s gratitude to be in such a special organization.” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show from St. Vincent College on Wednesday.
That same day, the four-time MVP met with reporters and further showed his admiration for the organization.
“I love that we’re out here in Latrobe. I love the opportunity for true camaraderie,” Rodgers told reporters. He then told the media about his experiences in the campus dorm setting so far.
“At nighttime, after meetings are done, guys hang out, you know, guys come to my room. Last night, I was in [Alex] Highsmith’s room,” He told reporters. “It’s pretty cool to see everybody hanging out the way they are.”
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday that the vibes feel different with having Rodgers on the Steelers.
“You’re damn right it does. Feels pretty good, too. Just the possibilities. To have a guy like that, in your huddle, in your locker room, a part of your group, it certainly gives us all great confidence,” he said.
Tomlin also explained how Rodgers has had a profound impact on the defense.
“He’s challenging them with his talents but his approach to the game….there’s some awesome benefits there as well, Tomlin told SiriusXM NFL Radio on how Rodgers is making the Steelers defense better everyday.
For sure, Rodgers isn’t afraid to speak his mind and his opinions can rub some people the wrong way. However, when it comes to being a teammate, Rodgers has been fantastic so far.
