NFL Week 3 picks and score predictions: Winless Giants take Chiefs to the wire, 49ers edge unbeaten Cardinals | CBS Sports

The only question here is what version of the Giants’ offense will be showing up: Will it be the version that only scored six points against the Commanders in Week 1 or will it be the unstoppable version that put up 37 on the Cowboys in Week 2?

One crazy thing about this matchup that if I told you the NFL’s leading passer was playing in this game, you’d probably assume that it was Patrick Mahomes, BUT IT’S NOT. Through two weeks, Russell Wilson is leading the NFL in passing yards with an average of 309 yards per game.

If Wilson goes off, the Giants could pull off a Giant upset here.

If the Chiefs had beaten the Eagles in Week 2, I think I would have taken the Giants, but at 0-2, the Chiefs are going to be desperate. The Giants will also be desperate, but in a situation like this, I’ll take the team that has been to the Super Bowl in five of the past six years.

PICK: Chiefs 27-24 over Giants

Jordan Mailata on chatter Eagles won because of the tush push – ‘Rubbish’ | ESPN

In an interview with 94 WIP on Philadelphia on Tuesday, Mailata said that it is “incredibly disrespectful” to the impact the Eagles’ defense and special teams had in the 20-17 victory at Kansas City.

“I understand the outrage [over the tush push]. What I don’t understand is them using it as an excuse to why we won the game. I think it’s incredibly disrespectful to our defense and our special teams who balled out. And my brothers on defense and special teams who balled out that game, who had our backs when we weren’t moving the ball or weren’t doing anything,” Mailata said.

“That pisses me off because we give so much to this game and to kind of base off a short-yardage play, that is a football play,” Mailata added, his voice raising. “And say that we won the game off that, but not how our defense played and not how our special teams have played, putting us in those positions. You know I think it’s bullcrap.”

NFL Week 2 takeaways: Chiefs’ early troubles, second-year QBs’ struggles among five things we learned | CBS Sports

The defense is concerning as well.

The Chiefs have been able to stop the run (3.6 yards per carry, with only 2.07 per carry after first contact, according to Tru Media), but they are springing leaks all over the secondary. Opponents have completed 71.4% of their passes at an average of 7.5 yards per attempt, with three touchdowns and no interceptions. They’re bottom-10 in EPA allowed per drop-back and they aren’t getting their hands on the ball at all. They’ve managed a...
