The Arizona Cardinals have invested in their secondary heavily.

Happy Monday one and all.

Remember, that the we will be unable to post from 2:00 p.m. until tomorrow morning, hoping to be able to get started on the new platform around 7:00 a.m.

Before that, let’s talk about the young cornerback room and how good they have looked at camp.

For Arizona Cardinals fans, it has been quite a wait to see them playing a group of young players together in a secondary that had promise, and could grow, as Kyle Odegard spoke about.

So much of that is that the previous regimes just did not believe in investing in the cornerback position.

It was not a priority, and think about this, post Patrick Peterson (2011), the Arizona Cardinals drafted three cornerbacks in the top 100 of NFL Draft’s over 11 years.

In 2012 they took Jamell Fleming at 80.

In 2016 they took Brandon Williams at 92.

Those two combined for zero career starts and just about 1000 career snaps.

Let’s hope that is improved with the new regime and the new picks, but overall, the lack of investment in the cornerback position by the previous regimes was shocking.

Now, we could see the team build a great secondary strictly from draft picks. What a world.
