Revenge of the Birds
As the Arizona Cardinals continue to look for another new head coach, they are leaning into things a bit different this time, casting a wide net.
Enter Houston Texans defensive coordinator and former Arizona Cardinals defensive line coach Matt Burke.
Burke is the Texans defensive play caller, and has created a monster of a defense in Houston and could bring a different fire into Arizona.
Burke has shown off in his three seasons as a defensive coordinator with Houston, moving them from 14th in yards and 11th in points, to first in yards and second in points.
They are one of the most physical, but also most basic defenses in the NFL, which begs the question, is it replicable with the Arizona Cardinals?
Also, Burke has a ton of experience, working under Jeff Fisher, Jim Schwartz, Marvin Lewis and Robert Saleh, all very well respected and high level defensive guys, so he knows his way around coaching defense.
