Revenge of the Birds Revenge of the Birds

It was a great first half for the Arizona Cardinals offense, an improved effort in the second half for the Arizona Cardinals defense, and a winning performance overall.

The Arizona Cardinals are 1-0 after their 20-13 win over the New Orleans Saints on the road to open the season.

There was a lot of good, a lot of bad and a lot of needing to continue to figure out what you have.

Yet, in the end, a win against a bad team, on the road in an early kickoff is way more important than the aesthetics of things.

The defense pitched a shutout for most of the second half, the offense did little things, even if some things need to be cleaned up.

One sequence that comes to mind, in the fourth quarter, near the goalline, they had a hold, a missed TD throw, and still got a first down, flipped the field and were able to get a punt off.

That resulted in getting the ball back in plus territory and getting another chance at another score.

That’s winning football. Especially on the road in a game you are supposed to win.

They made it way closer than they needed to, and this team needs to continue to improve, but in a season that is going to be defined by wins, they are 1-0.
