Arizona Cardinals Star Has Cringeworthy Explanation On Why He Thinks Birds Aren’t Real

Arizona Cardinals tight end Tip Reiman is trending on social media over his belief in the conspiracy theory that birds aren’t real.

Over the past eight years, a bizarre conspiracy theory has emerged that birds aren’t a real thing. For those who believe in the theory, the common thought is that “birds” are really drones used by the federal government to “spy” on people.

On X/Twitter, Dov Kleiman posted an old quote from Tip Reiman, who made it clear at last year’s NFL Scouting Combine that he doesn’t think birds actually exist. Here’s the full quote, per Owen Rise:

“Have you ever seen a baby pigeon? How do we know that power lines aren’t pigeon recharging stations.”

Well, it’s a good thing for Tip Reiman that the NFL stopped using the Wonderlic test in 2022. We’ll leave it at that.

If it makes Cardinals fans feel better, Reiman isn’t the only NFL player who believes in crazy conspiracy theories. We saw Aaron Rodgers spread plenty of COVID-19 misinformation during appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show”, before baselessly claiming that Jimmy Kimmel was on Jeffrey Epstein’s client list.

And there are probably many other active NFL players who believe in crazy conspiracy theories and are wisely keeping those thoughts to themselves.

Tip Reiman Enters Second Season With Cardinals

The Cardinals selected Reiman in the third round (82nd overall) in 2024, a mildly surprising pick since they already had rising star Trey McBride.

Though Reiman appeared in all 17 games during his rookie year, he caught just six passes for 37 yards and no touchdowns. We’ll see if he can turn it up a notch and emerge as a more impactful player in year two.
