The Arizona Cardinals made a move at wide receiver today, placing Trishton Jackson on injured reserve and in turn signing undrafted rookie free agent Kelly Akharaiyi to the team.
From the team:
βAkharaiyi (6-0, 201) entered the league with Buffalo in May as an undrafted rookie free agent from Mississippi State. He played in 2024 at Mississippi State after previously playing at UTEP (2022-23) and Tyler Junior College (2020-21). In his college career, Akharaiyi appeared in 35 games (25 starts) and totaled 94 receptions for 1,699 yards and 10 touchdowns. Last year at Mississippi State, he had 391 yards and two touchdowns on 25 receptions.β
βAkharaiyi will wear jersey #36β
The Cardinals have a deep receiving corps, but losing a training camp and preseason player like Jackson means you need another young buck looking to make a name for himself.
Akharaiyi will have that opportunity now as he tries to make an impact for the Arizona Cardinals.
Good luck to Kelly, and quick healing to Trishton.
