Arizona Cardinals rooting interest for week 14

Arizona Cardinals rooting interest for week 14
Revenge of the Birds Revenge of the Birds

The Arizona Cardinals don’t have anything to play for with regards to the season, and you can tell as they continue to actively try and tank another season under Jonathan Gannon.

If Gannon is back next year it would signal two seasons out of three where he was the head coach of a team that was trying to lose football games. Maybe not lose, but they definitely don’t look like a team trying to win.

So, if the Cardinals are going to put forth little effort with regards to trying to win on the field, at least we can look at what they are trying to get to, which is into the top five of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Here is the current top 11 order:

  1. Tennessee Titans (1-11)
  2. New York Giants (2-11)
  3. New Orleans Saints (2-10)
  4. Las Vegas Raiders (2-10)
  5. Cleveland Browns (3-9)
  6. Washington Commanders (3-9)
  7. New York Jets (3-9)
  8. Arizona Cardinals (3-9)
  9. Los Angeles Rams via Atlanta Falcons (4-8)
  10. Cincinnati Bengals (4-8)
  11. Minnesota Vikings (4-8)

Here are the matchups that matter today.

Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons (+6.5), 11:00 a.m. Arizona time

This should be an easy Seahawks win, which puts pressure on the Cardinals to continue to lose because the Falcons are one spot behind them picking 9th right now… and that pick goes to the Los Angeles Rams.

Miami Dolphins at New York Jets (+3), 11:00 a.m. Arizona time

The Jets are picking 7th, right in front of the Cardinals and the Dolphins are picking 12th. But the Dolphins are on a three game win streak and the Jets, well they stink.

New Orleans Saints (+8.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 11:00 a.m. Arizona time

Washington Commanders at Minnesota Vikings (+1.5), 11:00 a.m. Arizona time

The Saints are struggling, but may not need a quarterback. The Commanders meanwhile will have Jayden Daniels back, but will he be healthy and play well enough? The Vikings could be looking to move off J.J. McCarthy too.

Tennessee Titans (+3.5) at Cleveland Browns, 11:00 a.m. Arizona time

Could be a big one. If the Browns win they fall below the Cardinals.

Who do you think could win to move the Cardinals up in the 2026 NFL Draft this week?
