The Arizona Cardinals have been working on getting Will Hernandez back into the fold, and now it is happening.

From the team:

“The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has re-signed offensive lineman Will Hernandez and has released cornerback Keni-H Lovely. Hernandez is being placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP).“

“The signing took place today at State Farm Stadium, site of 2025 Arizona Cardinals Training Camp.”

Hernandez (6-3, 332) returns to the Cardinals after starting the first five games at right guard last season before spending the remainder of the season on injured reserve. He started 35 games the past three seasons with the Cardinals after originally joining the team in 2022.“

“The 29-year old Hernandez came to Arizona after playing his first four seasons with the New York Giants (2018-21) where he entered the league as a second-round pick (34th overall) in the 2018 NFL Draft out of UTEP. Hernandez has appeared in 97 games (91 starts) in his career, appearing at both left guard and right guard.“

“Hernandez will wear jersey #76.”

We discussed the return of Hernandez, and starting on the PUP makes sense, he will get back into game shape, the Cardinals will have plenty of time to evaluate and make a decision on who their best guards are for 2025.

Welcome back, Will!
