Arizona Cardinals could get small boost with Packers defensive line injuries
Revenge of the Birds Revenge of the Birds

The Green Bay Packers defense has been great this year. They traded for maybe the best defensive player in the NFL in Micah Parsons, and over the last five years have infused youth along their defense and now have one of the youngest, and most talented defenses in the NFL.

Well, this week they will be missing a couple of pieces of that defense, as both Devonte Wyatt and Lukas Van Ness will be out for the game.

Maybe this is a true injury, Wyatt is dealing with a knee issue while Van Ness is dealing with a foot ailment.

That could be a small blessing, as the Packers defensive front has been dominant this season. They are the top team in the NFL against the run, and the Cardinals run game has been bad this year.

The other thing is, both Wyatt and Van Ness are excellent complimentary pieces along the line for the Packers pass rush, as Parsons is the star, but Rashan Gary has 4.5 sacks so far this season as the “other guy” for the Packers.

So, taking away Wyatt, who has two sacks, and five quarterback hits, and Van Ness, who has 1.5 sacks and six quarterback hits, will take some pressure off of the offensive line. Some being the key word.
