Arizona Cardinals add some size to the defensive line.

The Arizona Cardinals have done a great job of adding pieces over the last couple of weeks to improve what was an injured and underwhelming defensive front.

They added Josh Sweat and Dalvin Tomlinson to help beef things up, and now in Pete Prisco’s first mock draft of the 2025 season, he has the Arizona Cardinals continuing that trend.

From Prisco:

16. Arizona Cardinals - Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

The Cardinals added to their defense in free agency by getting guys like Josh Sweat, but now they can get a power inside player in Grant. Dalvin Tomlinson was signed as a defensive tackle in free agency, but he’s getting up in years.

This one is interesting, not because I think anything negative along the lines of grant, he will likely play 40-50% of the snaps in year one and maybe year two if you get everything you want out of Tomlinson, but because of who else is available.

Look at the picks directly after Grant.

17. Derrick Harmon, DL (CBS Rank 29) (Consensus Rank 28)
18. Armand Membou, OL (14) (8)
19. Jihaad Campbel, LB (21) (17)
23. Mykel Williams, Edge (16) (15)
27. Mike Green, Edge (18) (18)
28. Tetairoa McMillan, WR (7) (9)
29. Josh Simmons, OL (17) (25)

Grant is ranked 30th on the CBS board, and 22nd on the Consensus board. That means the Cardinals would be passing on a number of players who are ranked higher than Grant on both CBS’ board and the consensus board.

Now, I am not opposed because I haven’t put my board together and quite frankly am not sure where Grant slots in, but I am curious what people would think, especially in regards to passing on Membou.
