Arizona Cardinals among favorites to use supplemental draft pick on Brendan Sorsby

The ongoing saga of Brendan Sorsby seems over and the Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL now have decisions to make.

For the Arizona Cardinals, the decision is compounded on a couple different things, but first the odds.

The odds from BetOnline.ag (since our partners at FanDuel have not jumped on the line yet):

Sorsby Supplemental Draft Round

• 3rd – 3/1
• Undrafted – 7/2 (+350)
• 2nd – 4/1
• 4th – 4/1
• 1st – 5/1
• 5th – 6/1
• 6th – 8/1
• 7th – 9/1

Then the team odds:

• New York Jets – 3/1
• Arizona Cardinals – 5/1
• Miami Dolphins – 6/1
• Pittsburgh Steelers – 7/1

Interesting to see these teams as the top odds to make the pick, but also what is more interesting to me is the Cardinals being second.

First off, the Cardinals have the Jacoby Brissett situation at hand, they added Gardner Minshew in free agency and of course the biggest thing, they added Carson Beck in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

So, if they are drafting Sorsby, and it is indeed a top four round pick, then they’ll have used two picks on the quarterback position in two drafts in a row.

Now, if either Beck or Sorsby hits, then nothing else matters, but it is also the reality that they can only play one quarterback and they have spent maybe not premium picks, but for a team that needs talent and depth, you cannot do that too much.

The question becomes, is Sorsby a better prospect than Beck to justify the pick, and would that mean it is time to say goodbye to Brissett with his holdout situation?
