Antonio Brown is wanted by Miami-Dade Police on a charge of attempted murder.

The former NFL wide receiver was involved in a shooting incident after a boxing event in May, some of which was caught on camera, and later claimed he was defending himself after he got jumped.

According to the Washington Post, Brown was named in a warrant signed by a judge on Thursday, with attempted murder with a firearm as the charge.

โ€œThe warrant, which was signed by a judge Wednesday, lists a charge of attempted murder with a firearm and calls for Brown to post a $10,000 bond and remain under house arrest pending trial,โ€ the post reports.

It adds that efforts were made to reach the former wideout but were unsuccessful, while it is unclear whether or not an attorney is representing him.

A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade State Attorneyโ€™s Office did not offer comment.

Antonio Brown Initially Detained But Released By Police

Police detained Brown after the incident, which followed a boxing event organized by streamer Adin Ross.

Officers are said to have responded to a report of gunshots being fired. Upon arrival, they were told by an off-duty officer who was part of the security detail that he had left the venue after being told of the gunfire and later saw Brown in a physical altercation with another man.

People in the parking lot told the police that Brown was the shooter, but they did not find any weapon when they searched him.

According to the warrant, they did find two shell casings and an empty holster.

Brown was released and would take to social media afterward to claim that he was jumped by men trying to steal his jewelry and cause him bodily harm.
