Antonio Brown has released a statement following Friday night’s wild incident, which resulted in him being apprehended by police.

The former NFL wide receiver attended Adin Ross’s kickboxing event in Florida this weekend and had someone attempt to steal his chain, with video footage showing him getting jumped and then being pulled out of the melee by security.

Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me.…

Brown is said to have pulled a gun and fired shots into the air before he was taken into custody by the authorities. However, he was back at the venue just 20 minutes later, having been released.

Antonio Brown Planning To Press Charges

The 36-year-old has since posted a statement via his X account, claiming he was attacked by multiple individuals. He did not mention a gun but did note that he was not arrested but was “temporarily detained.”

Brown also warned that he will be pressing charges.

“Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,” he wrote.

“Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED.”

The former NFL star said he “will be talking to my legal council and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me.”

He added that he “will keep you all posted step-by-step on the process.”

It doesn’t appear that anyone was seriously hurt during the incident. Brown joined Ross on his live stream shortly after his release and was able to joke about the whole thing.
