The end of Antonio Brown’s career, as well as the years that have followed, have been quite an experience. The legendary but controversial receiver ranks 28th in career receiving yards (12,291), but he has become more known for his erratic personality and off-the-field drama than for the big numbers and highlight plays he was responsible for in the NFL.

Brown’s social media presence, in particular, has regularly shown his unpredictable behavior. The pass catcher who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently went on a rant about Baltimore Ravens receiver Zay Flowers.

“If you say Zay Flowers with my name, you’re a loser,” Brown exclaimed. “Zay Flowers fumbles too much. He can’t hold water. He sucks… He’s not me, and I’m being honest… Zay Flowers is the reason Lamar Jackson can’t win.”

The hot take from the controversial receiver seemed to come unprompted. Flowers has 237 receptions for 3,128 yards and 14 touchdowns through three seasons, meaning he became the fastest Ravens player to 3,000 yards ever.

In a since-deleted post, DeAndre Hopkins, who played for Baltimore last season, came to his teammates’ defense. “U goofy talking ab [about] Zay, bro used to look up to you,” Hopkins wrote. Jackson, who throws passes to Flowers, has also had nothing but great things to say about his top receiving threat.

The Ravens do need to bounce back this year. They finished below .500 last season and have been unable to get over the hump and into the Super Bowl with this core, but it hasn’t been for lack of effort or skill from Flowers.
