The Pittsburgh Steelers have another option at wide receiver after the Tennessee Titans released their former first-round pick.
The Pittsburgh Steelers now have yet another option to address their wide receiver room if they so choose. The Tennessee Titans released former first-round wide receiver Treylon Burks, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.
Burks, the No. 18 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has never lived up to expectations. He played in just 11 games in each of his first two seasons and only five games last season due to injuries.
His bad injury luck continued over the weekend, too, when he suffered a fractured collarbone at training camp. That put his status for the 2025 season up in the air, and the Titans felt it was best to move on.
However, Burks could still be an intriguing player for a wide receiver-needy team like the Steelers as a once highly-touted prospect.
During his last two years at the University of Arkansas, he racked up 117 catches for 1,924 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also added 187 yards and a score on the ground.
It’s no guarantee Burks would even make the Steelers 53-man roster, especially given his health. But they could give him a look once he is fully healthy.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound wide receiver would pair perfectly with DK Metcalf in Pittsburgh’s offense. Maybe a change of scenery is all he needs to help turn his NFL career around.
Burks has 53 receptions for 699 yards and one touchdown in his professional career.
