And the winner of the Seahawks HOMAGE x Starter Pullover Jacket is…

The results are in, and we have a winner for the Field Gulls’ third annual opening day apparel giveaway.

Last week, we asked you to guess the total number of rushing yards for the Seattle Seahawks against the San Francisco 49ers. The stat correction deadline has passed, so the winning number was 84 rushing yards. Not exactly something we wanted to see given the promise of a great rushing attack.

With well over 150 entrants, I was curious to see how many people were brave enough to predict less than 100 yards on the ground.

The answer was 3. That made narrowing down a winner much easier.

One entrant predicted 61 yards, which was looking like a winner until the final Seahawks scoring drive, but they’ll settle for third place. We had a tie for closest accurate guess between filthybagel and feeldaburn, of whom the latter has won one of our contests before. Filthybagel predicted 74 yards, while feeldaburn was much more optimistic at 94.

The first tiebreaker was guessing how long the Seahawks’ rushing play would be, and Sam Darnold’s 9-yard scamper before halftime was as good as it got for Seattle. Feeldaburn predicted a long rush of 18, while filthybagel had… 16!

Which means, that by virtue of the first tiebreaker, your winner of the HOMAGE x Starter Seahawks Pullover Jacket is…

Just for good measure, the second tiebreaker was naming Seattle’s leading rusher, which filthybagel correctly predicted would be Zach Charbonnet over Kenneth Walker III and everyone else.

They’ve already been contacted and will receive their prize shortly. Thanks to all of you for playing, and thanks for some amusing responses like the Seahawks rushing for 362 yards or George Holani being the leading rusher on the afternoon. Go big or go home, I suppose. One person (our third-place finisher) predicted a long rush of 7, so that’s the best of the tiebreaker performers.
