The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off winning the Super Bowl in a season that they weren’t necessarily expected to.

Fans and analysts knew they were going to be good, but with several other NFC teams looking strong heading into the year, the Eagles weren’t at the top of many people’s lists.

Their strong roster on both sides of the ball helped them get to the mountaintop, and they’re now seen as a favorite heading into the 2025 campaign.

Even Super Bowl-winning teams can find ways to improve, which analyst Eliot Shorr-parks spoke about in a recent segment on Philadelphia’s radio show, “94.1 WIP.”

Shorr-Parks believes the Eagles need to make more investments in their secondary, particularly at the safety position.

“I think they’re doing the team a disservice going into the year with this group,” Shorr-Parks said.

ESP says the Eagles "have to acquire another safety"

"If their plan as currently stated is to play Cooper [DeJean] when they're in base… and in nickel have someone else at safety, then I think they're doing the team a disservice going into the year with this group." pic.twitter.com/gzF3XRAlux

He isn’t a fan of who the Eagles are planning to roll out, a group of safeties that is either unproven or suboptimal.

Not having the right safeties on the field could lead to broken coverages and long plays by opposing teams, a problem the Eagles had before 2024.

Their cornerbacks held it down last season, which might give fans hope and excitement for what they can do this year, but Shorr-Parks isn’t buying it.

It will be interesting to see if the Eagles do make any moves over the next several weeks leading into the season, or if they’ll stick with what worked last year.

The NFC isn’t getting any easier, and they’ll have to be as aggressive as possible if they want to bring home another Lombardi Trophy.
