Analyst Makes A Surprising Prediction About Eagles Next Season

The Philadelphia Eagles have returned to the Super Bowl after missing it last year due to a late-season collapse.

Thanks to the performance of All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley, an elite defense, and Co., Philly is in prime position to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Philadelphia.

However, analyst Andrew Perloff believes the Eagles are set up for a regression next season.

“The Eagles are going to take a step back next year…They ran (Saquon) into the ground this year,” Perloff said Wednesday via “Maggie and Perloff.”

So Perloff believes that the Eagles are going to be worse next season because Barkley may not be as healthy.

That point is certainly interesting, especially considering Barkley is about to turn 28, which is somewhat old for an NFL running back.

Also, teams now know how much of a focal point Barkley is within the Eagles offense.

They know that he is getting the ball because he put up over 2,000 rushing yards this season.

Unfortunately for Eagles fans, they have seen their team regress in recent memory after making it to the Super Bowl.

After reaching the final game in the 2022 season, the team faltered down the stretch and failed to advance past the wildcard round in 2023.

There is no guarantee in sports that teams will return to the championship game the following season.

Look at Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins or the Chicago Bulls after Michael Jordan left.

If the Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl, they better do it now.
