Analyst Believes Aaron Rodgers Could Have One Last Run in Him

There are some who still believe quarterback Aaron Rodgers can lead the Pittsburgh Steelers on a run in the playoffs.

Many are not looking at the Pittsburgh Steelers as true contenders entering the 2025 playoff race. However, some believe 42-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers could be the difference in proving their doubters wrong.

Nick Wright of Fox Sports thinks that Rodgers may not have even played his best ball this year with his health for the postseason in mind.

“I think there is a chance we see an Aaron Rodgers more willing to get hit once the playoffs start,” Wright said on his podcast What’s Wright? with Nick Wright. “Part of his quick, quick, quick, quick trigger was I cannot be injured for the postseason. He might be willing to hang in there a little bit more when he knows, in all likelihood, these are my last playoff moments.”

Rodgers’ play has been up and down throughout the 2025 season, but he is coming off one of his best performances of the year, completing 31 of his 47 passes for 294 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions against the Baltimore Ravens.

Wright believes that paired with the defense finally starting to click late into the year could make the Steelers a dark horse contender.

“I’m not dismissing Pittsburgh. I did for most of the year. I’m not dismissing them at this point,” Wright continued. “I don’t think they could win four playoff games, but I think they can beat the Texans. If they beat the Texans, do I think they would have a shot of going to Denver? I would.”

Winning four straight games is no easy task for anyone, but especially for a team like Pittsburgh that hasn’t won more than three straight all season.

However, Rodgers has something that most of the remaining quarterbacks in the playoffs don’t have — experience.

Rodgers has 11 playoff career wins while the rest of the quarterbacks in the AFC playoffs have combined for 10 postseason wins.

Only time will tell if that will be enough to lead the Steelers to the Super Bowl, but Wright seems to believe everyone should be taking them a bit more seriously.
