Through training camp, it appeared Alexander Mattison was the Miami Dolphins best short yardage back. Unfortunately, the team won’t be able to use him now as he underwent season ending neck surgery after being injured on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Without Mattison, this give Ollie Gordon II the inside track to that short yardage role and he was able to show he was capable of doing that, and more, this past Sunday. The Dolphins did work out Jamaal Williams, but ended up signing Aaron Shampklin and Mike Boone.
