The playoffs are right around the corner, and Josh Allen is dealing with a concerning injury.
Josh began Week 17 as a limited participant at practice due to soreness in his right foot. He practiced with full reps last Friday and was able to play against the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time, McDermott said Allen was “day-to-day.”
Allen received negative results, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported last week. Now that we are headed to the final regular-season game of the year, his status has been updated again.
The Bills’ standout quarterback was back practicing on Friday after being a DNP the last two days. However, an X user took a screenshot of Josh Allen on the field that highlighted his foot. It was to highlight some concerning points that may indicate a deeper issue.
“Either foot so swollen or excessive tape under sock— creating crease at tongue and cleat needing to be cut (black slit) to relieve pressure,” the post said.
#BillsMafia this is the Josh Allen foot pic we needed

X-rays on Josh Allen’s foot were negative. His outlook for playing on Sunday is trending upward. The Bills quarterback did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. He was back on the field on Friday.
It’s a good thing he was because the team needs him. The New England Patriots recently wrapped up the AFC East crown, ensuring the Bills won’t have a home game in the playoffs.
Currently, the Bills would be the No. 7 seed and head back to Foxborough. However, it is subject to change. To be the No. 5 seed, Josh Alen needs to will his team to a win over the Jets. However, the Texans and Chargers both need to lose.
The Bills will be the sixth seed if they win or if either of those teams loses. A Bills loss will seal the seventh seed.
