Artificial intelligence has predicted how Fernando Mendoza’s NFL career will play out. And if you firmly believe in AI simulations, let’s just say it’s a good time to be a Las Vegas Raiders fan.
Fernando Mendoza put a cherry on top of his legendary Heisman Trophy-winning season on Monday. Mendoza led the Indiana Hoosiers to the program’s first national championship, holding off the Miami Hurricanes for a thrilling 27-21 victory.
A bloody lip caused by a vicious hit wasn’t enough to stop Mendoza, who remained calm and poised throughout the biggest game of his life.
Mendoza completed 16 of 27 pass attempts for 186 yards and had a crucial 12-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. Jamari Sharpe sealed the deal for Miami when he picked off Carson Beck with less than a minute to go.
For a while, there was a debate between Mendoza and Oregon’s Dante Moore as the top quarterback prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft. But with Moore announcing his return to Oregon, Mendoza is a virtual lock to be the first QB taken.
After a 3-14 finish, the Las Vegas Raiders secured the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Given their need for a quarterback, just about everyone assumes they’ll take Mendoza with the No. 1 pick.
The BetMGM sportsbook asked artificial intelligence to predict Mendoza’s professional career. The results? Well, Raiders fans would be over the moon if AI were 50 percent correct here.
AI has Mendoza throwing for 63.600 yards and 464 touchdowns. They predict that he’ll spend 12 years in Vegas, the 2038 season with the Tennessee Titans and the last two years of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

They have Mendoza winning two Super Bowls and one MVP award, with eight Pro Bowl selections. If he had 63,600 yards, it would put him ninth on the career leaderboard, per Pro Football Reference.
