Browns

Browns DE Myles Garrett is planning on having the best year of his career after signing a lucrative contract extension to remain in Cleveland.

“I look forward to having my best season for sure, and I think it’s trending that way,” Garrett said, via the team website. “Been really good, and I think everything’s pointed in that direction.”

“The day I stepped forth here at this facility, with this organization, I’ve had an opportunity to have a platform and to set a standard,” Garrett added. “And I’ve got to continue to be the leader for this team and set that standard.”

Ravens

Ravens CB T.J. Tampa is entering the second year of his career after missing 10 games last season. John Harbaugh thinks Tampa is gaining valuable experience in their offseason program and wants to see consistency out of the young cornerback.

“The reps are really good for him,” Harbaugh said, via Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. “I’ve seen a lot of flashes, flashing some real good plays. Keep chasing the consistency with the technique. T.J. is a young player, in the sense that I don’t even think sometimes he understands how good he is, how talented, how big he is, so I want him to play like a big corner and embrace that as far as his technique. He’s been working on doing that. You see it really coming around.”

Harbaugh said they won’t shy away from making more additions to their cornerbacks group.

“I don’t really look at it as an ‘or.’ I look at it as an ‘and,’” Harbaugh said. “Yes, we’re happy with the guys we have, and I’m very confident those guys are all going to do well, and we turn over every stone. You’re always interested in anything you see on the waiver wire or anything else.”

Steelers

Pittsburgh finally signed QB Aaron Rodgers after a long wait, where all signs pointed to the inevitable happening. Steelers QB Mason Rudolph is keeping the same mindset with Rodgers around, but he appreciates the clarity that comes with the known pecking order in the room.

“It won’t change my approach,” Rudolph said, via Kevin Gorman of Trib Live. “We’ve got one more week of practice coming up, our mandatory minicamp. It will be nice to get everybody in the building. I’ll keep doing what I’ve done my whole career. I’ve had plenty of adversity and found a way to battle through it. I stayed ready to play well when called upon.”

“It provides clarity. I’m excited to see a lot of the faces that are coming back, obviously Aaron. I’m just going to keep doing my job — that’s all I can do — and try to help my team win games.”
