Genetics are a powerful thing. Adrian Peterson’s daughter, Ari, is one of the top basketball players in the country in the class of 2028, and the freshman in high school is already dunking!
Adrian Peterson last played in the NFL in 2021, wrapping up a stellar career that saw him run for 14,918 yards and lead the league in rushing three times. The 2012 NFL MVP could truly do it all.
So can his daughter, Ari, apparently. Here’s MaxPreps with more.
Ari Peterson, the daughter of former NFL running back Adrian Peterson, is emerging as one of the top Class of 2028 high school basketball prospect in the country at Minnetonka (Minn.).
Peterson, a 6-foot-1 guard, is averaging 13.2 points per game this season with a high of 21 in December against Park Center. She can score from all over the floor, rebound and even dunk.
Minnesota, Purdue, Maryland and Oklahoma – where Adrian played between 2004-07 – are among the college programs that have extended offers to Peterson.
Peterson has been playing high school varsity ball since seventh grade when she was at Providence Academy (Plymouth, Minn.). As an eighth-grader, she averaged 12.2 points and 7.4 rebounds for a state championship squad that went 29-4.
Transitioning to Minnetonka this year, Peterson looks to be getting comfortable with 12 straight games scoring in double figures. The Skippers are 10-6 heading into Friday’s home game against Edina.
