The two biggest question marks, health-wise, the Green Bay Packers have going into Week 3 are whether or not tight end Tucker Kraft (knee) and right tackle Zach Tom (oblique) will be playing against the Cleveland Browns.
Tom was injured in Week 1 and missed Week 2, while Kraft was actually injured in practice on Thursday. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Kraft had “a little knee tweak” and does not appear to have a long-term health issue. Sports Illustrated’s Bill Huber asked a source if Kraft will suit up against the Browns, and the source replied, “I don’t know yet.”
Shortly after the news broke about Kraft’s injury, though, Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich took the podium for his weekly press conference. So what did Stenavich have to say about these injuries?
On Kraft, Stenavich stated, “Hopefully he’ll be alright, but we’ll just kind of see how it goes.” That’s not much, but his words certainly aren’t a reason for panic, either.
With Tom, Stenavich added, “I’m hopeful we can get him out there,” but noted that they’re going to give the tackle up until gametime to make a decision. That seems relatively positive, considering that Tom was out last week.
In other injury news, the other Packers players who were limited in practice on Thursday, beyond Kraft and Tom, were left guard Aaron Banks (groin), cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee), running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) and cornerback Bo Melton (shoulder). Hobbs and Jacobs were able to finish last week’s game, while Melton was inactive due to injury. Banks also missed Week 2, but has stated plainly that he will be playing this week against the Browns.
