I’m on record saying I don’t think there is any chance that Micah Parsons and the Cowboys don’t get a long term deal done, but according to Adam Schefter it looks like the Cowboys and their star defensive end are heading for a divorce:
That’s crazy. As a guy with a podcast I take everything a guy with a podcast says with a grain of salt. Is this a clip just to drum up some views and squeeze those extra ad dollars out, or is this legitimate news? I don’t know. I’m going to err on the side that Schefter might not 100% believe this and is in fact using his intel for engagement and listens because he can and why wouldn’t he? It’s like Nancy Pelosi trading stocks. Until they do something about the law, Pelosi can trade with whatever information she wants to. Schefter’s dividends just so happen to be Blu-Chew ad reads. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Schefty did go on to say he believes Parsons could finish out his deal this year, the Cowboys franchise him next season, and they continue the offseason drama.
I still don’t think Jerry Jones is stupid enough to let a generational defensive end walk. They’ll get 75 cents on the dollar if they trade him since he’s in a contract year. But they still haven’t met since right now Jerry is focused on making sure every Cowboys fan is reliving the glory days and watching the new Netflix documentary. Honestly, to promote the doc more, Netflix should’ve opened up a Blockbuster in Philadelphia and told people if they wanted to watch the series they’d have to rent a VCR and tape. That’s the only chance I’m watching that thing. You think I want to see Jerry Jones fellate himself for five hours? Get outta here. We’ve been watching that our entire lives. I’m going to choose to live in the present, where the Dallas Cowboys remain a shit show.
Sidenote: Do we really need this much Dallas Cowboys content? Don’t we get enough shoved down our throats from the sports networks? Netflix has this doc, the cheerleader reality show, and they’ve got the Cowboys game on Christmas Day. Can’t we leave the Cowboys on basic cable? Why do they now need to infiltrate our streamers? Maybe it’s because Jones will let all the documentary crews that ask into the Star, which has to be unbearable when you’re a player. Remember the former players that complained about the fans that would tour the stadium and they could gawk at players in the weight room like they were elephants? It’s just a content factory 24/7 365 over there. The Eagles have NovaCare locked up like they’re hiding nuclear warheads. The Giants asked fans to stop video taping during team drills so that Jaxson Dart interceptions wouldn’t get out. Jerry’s as open as the border and I hope he continues it for our sake.
