The Washington Commanders GM answers questions from the media

The NFL world has once again descended on Indianapolis for the annual scouting combine. Coaches, executives, and scouts will be here to interview prospects, and gather information that will influence their decisions in April. The Combine is also a time when team’s are gauging interest from player’s agents, and also testing the waters for potential trades.

This is Adam Peters second scouting combine since being hired by the Washington Commanders as their general manager. Washington made it to the NFC Championship game in the first year of his “recalibration” of the team, alongside head coach Dan Quinn who was also hired last year. The team picked Jayden Daniels in the first round last year, and the rookie QB exceeded everyone’s expectations as he led the team to it’s best season since their last Super Bowl win.

Washington currently has seven draft picks, but that could change before the draft begins on April 24th. There are rumors about the Commanders interest in Browns DE Myles Garrett, and the team has given Jonathan Allen permission to seek a trade. Washington already traded several picks las season for a former All-Pro in CB Marshon Lattimore, but injuries limited his contributions. Peters and Quinn have a lot of work to do to a roster they patched together last year behind a rookie phenom, and they will get a closer look at some potential new players this week.
