Not good for the potential top-5 pick
Abdul Carter is the guy I came into this draft season wanting the Tennessee Titans to draft. The hope was that they would be able to work out a trade with the New York Giants, where they would pick up multiple picks in the top three drafts over the next two years and draft Carter. Of course, that plan was contingent on the Titans signing a competent veteran quarterback who could compete with Will Levis in training camp.
A lot has changed over the last few months. It was announced at the NFL Combine that Carter had a stress reaction in his foot and would not work out. At the time, he and his people said he would work out at Penn State’s Pro Day. Well, today it was announced that he will not work out at Penn State’s Pro Day. That’s a big red flag.
Also, the Titans have not signed a competent veteran quarterback, so it seems like they will be sticking with the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and taking Cam Ward.
