Abdul Carter never seems to learn his lesson. The New York Giants rookie has been benched quite often in his first season with the team.

There have been reports of him sleeping during a walk-through. He was also benched with the Giants playing the New England Patriots. No official reason was given at the time. However, social media claimed he was disciplined after getting caught watching adult videos during a team meeting.

The pass rusher was benched twice in a three-week span, but nothing seems to get to him. That was proven once again this week before Week 17.

While his teammates were likely getting set to face the Raiders, Abdul Carter was on the Las Vegas strip. He didn’t even hide it. Carter took to his Instagram story and posted a picture of the strip. You can see the MGM Grand and the New York-New York hotels in the picture.

Uh Oh: Giants rookie LB Abdul Carter was exploring the Las Vegas strip late last night…

Carter has struggled with off-field issues all season, showing up late to team meetings and falling asleep in the Giants' facility.

This is a bad look for Carter.

What’s Next For Abdul Carter?

New York Giants rookie pass rusher Abdul Carter has been able to play in two consecutive games leading up to Sunday. This hadn’t happened since early November.

The team’s 2025 first-round pick has been a problem all season. Carter was so highly touted that there was a moment where it was suggested that Carter wear Lawrence Taylor’s iconic No. 56 jersey. Now, Giant fans are wondering if Carter is even going to live up to a fraction of what he was projected to be.

Through 15 games, he has just 3.5 sacks and 40 tackles. Fans expected so much more from him. However, it is only his first season. Despite so much controversy, he has plenty of time to turn it around.

“Wake up,” Lawrence Taylor said of Abdul Carter. “This is what you worked for, this is where you want to be, so now you’re there… Let’s wake up.”

“Don’t let your teammates down over bulls–t!” Taylor continued. “If you can’t tell your coach what’s going on and why you can’t be at practice, then it’s bulls–t.”

It’s up to him to be able to turn it around.
