The Pittsburgh Steelers win against the Cincinnati Bengals came at a big cost.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to get their revenge against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, defeating their division rival 34-12. However, it seems to have come at a major cost.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a slight break in his left wrist and will underdgo further testing Monday to determine the full extent of the injury and how long he’ll be sidelined.

The initial concern is that Aaron Rodgers has, in the words of one source, “a slight break” his left wrist, but the Steelers quarterback will underdgo further testing Monday to determine the full extent of the injury and how long he’ll be sidelined, per league sources. pic.twitter.com/Or2YHzFMBk

Rodgers exited the game late in the second quarter and never returned. Now it seems his injury will keep him sidelined for at least the near future, despite a report by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that he wanted to return to the game.

“I’m told he actually tried to come back into the game,” Florio said. “They didn’t let him play. They’re going to have imaging examinations tomorrow to determine the extent of the injury”

Luckily, the initial belief is that Rodgers’ injury won’t keep him sidelined long term, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network also revealed that Rodgers has indicated to people close to him that he’ll be back soon.

All in all, it’s good news, but it looks like quarterback Mason Rudolph is in line to start for the Steelers in their Week 12 matchup against the Chicago Bears with sixth-round draft pick Will Howard serving as his backup.

Rudolph played well in his limited action on Sunday, completing 12 of 16 passes (75.%) for 127 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions, and a passer rating of 118.5.

Rodgers, 41, hadn’t missed an offensive snap for the Steelers this season up until this point. The 21st-year veteran entered the day having passed for 1,853 yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Before exiting, he’d gone 9 of 15 for 116 yards and an 11-yard touchdown pass to Kenneth Gainwell in the first quarter.
