Soon-to-be free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers revealed what he is looking for in his next team.

Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to become a free agent in the coming weeks after the New York Jets informed him that they are parting ways with him this offseason. That means Rodgers will be looking for his third home in four years, so what is he looking for in his next team?

“They want you,” Rodgers said during an interview with TMZ. “And they have a good team.”

The 41-year-old doesn’t seem to be too picky, and rightfully so, but that doesn’t mean he’ll just join any team this offseason. Rodgers is likely looking to join a team that is ready to compete for a Super Bowl in 2025, which could prove to be his final season in the NFL.

There are several quarterback-needy teams this offseason, but it remains to be seen how many would be willing to take a risk on the oldest starting quarterback in the league.

Rodgers showed he can still play good football, throwing for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2024. But it’s not the level he’s been accustomed to playing throughout his 20-year NFL career, which is highlighted by a Super Bowl XLV championship, four NFL MVP awards and 10 Pro Bowl selections.

Still, Rodgers is keeping his options open right now. He’s begun his offseason training in Southern California, but that doesn’t mean he wants to stay on the west coast.

“Just enjoying the sunshine right now,” he said.

That’s good news for the quarterback-needy Steelers if they’re hoping to convince Rodgers to come to Pittsburgh. With quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both set to become free agents, that’s certainly a scenario that could play out in the next few weeks.
