One of the Pittsburgh Steelers rookies could have a big year thanks to quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers traded up in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft to land wide receiver Germie Bernard with the belief he can make an impact early on as a rookie. However, it turns out the front office aren’t the only ones who believe that.

Bernard recently revealed that quarterback Aaron Rodgers sees his potential and has been doing everything he can to help him along.

“He’s just teaching me the game. He’s helping me catch up,” Bernard said via FOX54 News. “He sees that I have the potential to play, and so he’s pouring into me as much as I can, and I just ask questions and try to learn and be a sponge as much as I can, and receive what they’re telling me because they know the best.”

Bernard is coming off an impressive season at Alabama, where he had a career-high 64 catches for 862 yards and seven touchdowns.

He developed into one of the more reliable receivers in the SEC, producing both as an outside target and from the slot, and his ability to create separation and generate yards after the catch helped boost his draft stock throughout the 2025 college football season.

How much playing time Bernard will receive as a rookie will be factored by a couple of things. First, he must learn the Steelers new offense and earn the respect of Rodgers. Luckily for him, it seems like he’s already made great strides in that department.

Then, Bernard must establish himself as the clear No. 3 ahead of the likes of third-year wide receiver Roman Wilson and do-it-all man Ben Skowronek. This opportunity will take place later this summer during training camp.

If Bernard is successful in both of those endeavors, the sky is certainly the limit for him as a rookie.

Bernard, who started his college career at Michigan State, is a Las Vegas native. He played his high school ball at Liberty High School in Henderson, Nevada.
