Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has officially passed Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger in the record books.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has officially leapfrogged Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger on one of the all-time lists.

With Rodgers’ 15-yard completion to running back Jaylen Warren in the second quarter of the Steelers’ Thursday night matchup against Cincinnati Bengals, Rodgers now has 64,089 passing yards in his career, passing Roethlisberger in fifth place on the all-time passing yardage list.

When Roethlisberger retired at the end of the 2021 season, he had 64,088 passing yards — a mark he hit in 249 games.

It took Rodgers a few more games to reach the mark, but it’s an impressive one, nonetheless. Roethlisberger is happy to see his record get broken, too.

“Aaron’s going to pass my all-time passing record this year,” Roethlisberger said during the offseason. “Good. Records are meant to be broken.”

The 41-year-old now has the rest of the season to continue adding to his career numbers, but it’s going to take more than just the 2025 season to move up anymore on the all-time passing yardage list.

Rodgers’ former Green Bay Packers teammate Brett Favre sits at No. 4 with 71,838 yards, which would likely take Rodgers another season, if not more, to reach.

That seems unlikely to happen, too, after Rodgers revealed the 2025 season will likely be his last this offseason.

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “ You know, that’s why we just did a one-year deal. The Steelers didn’t need to put any extra years on that or anything, so this was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I’ve had. I mean, I’ve played 20 freaking years. It’s been a long run and I’ve enjoyed it. What better place to finish than (with) one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL.”

Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has the all-time record with 89,214 yards. The next-closest player is former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees with 80,358 yards.
