The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on February 9. Four days later, reports surfaced that the New York Jets wouldn’t be bringing Aaron Rodgers back in 2025, despite him being under contract. That report sent a signal to the rest of the NFL, that a future first-ballot Hall of Famer and four-time NFL MVP would be available, either via trade or free agency.
Eventually, once free agency got underway, the Jets did release Rodgers from his contract, allowing him to freely negotiate with the rest of the 31 teams in the NFL, and there were several teams in need of a new quarterback. Many teams were linked to Rodgers, the New York Giants even met with him.
As the quarterback carousel continued to spin, it became evident that there was only one reasonable landing spot for Rodgers, barring injury, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yet, what took him so long to sign? After all, it’s been four months since it became known that he was available.
On Tuesday, during Rodgers’ press conference, a reason for his long summer away from the NFL emerged when cameras caught a new wedding ring on his finger.

According to Rodgers, he’s been married “for a few months.” That explains why he spent so much time on his own, enjoying time with his new boo.
