Aaron Rodgers didn’t make it subtle on how he felt defeating the New York Jets in his postgame press conference.

It didn’t take long for Aaron Rodgers to make his mark as the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. On a day where the defense struggled immensely, Rodgers carried the load en route to a 34-32 victory over the New York Jets. The former MVP, however, felt that much sweeter about the win.

After the game, Rodgers was in the post-game press conference following the victory. The Steelers quarterback was asked about defeating the Jets, given the context of his exit interview with head coach Aaron Glenn. He wasn’t subtle about how he felt.

“I was happy to beat everyone associated with the Jets,” Rodgers responded.

In a game where both starting quarterbacks faced their previous teams, it was the former Jets passer who prevailed. That’s not to say the former Steelers Justin Fields wasn’t in a position to succeed.

Fields looked to be out-gunning Rodgers and the Steelers early. The Jets got out to a 26-17 lead in the third quarter.

However, in a game where head coach Mike Tomlin values the turnover margin, turnovers determined the day. Rodgers led the Steelers on a 9-play 68-yard touchdown drive. The ensuing kickoff saw Pittsburgh pounce on a loose football.

Two plays later, Calvin Austin III reeled in a touchdown to give Pittsburgh its first lead since the second quarter–the fourth touchdown pass for the five-time NFL MVP.

After the Steelers allowed a touchdown drive, Rodgers led a drive that saw Chris Boswell kick the game-winner from 60 yards away.

Rodgers got the sweet victory, but maybe even more so showed he still can play at 41.
