Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw shade at former U.S. President Joe Biden during a bizarre interview at practice on Tuesday.

After his release from the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers spent three months mulling over his options before deciding to join the Steelers. The four-time league MVP signed a one-year deal worth $13.65 million with a max value of $19.5 million.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Rodgers was detailing which coaches and players he recognized from the Jacksonville Jaguars, whom Pittsburgh defeated 31-25 in the preseason opener on Saturday.

“Who do I know on Jacksonville? I know Heath Farwell, the special teams coach, I played against him. (Running backs coach) Chad Morton, he was with us. I’ve met Trevor (Lawrence) a few times. I was kind of looking around…doing the Joe Biden thing…I guess I don’t know anybody here, so I’m just gonna walk off. And I found Cam (Heyward) and TJ (Watt).”

Aaron Rodgers said after 21 years in the league, he “gravitates toward the old heads,” so when he was walking off the field in Jacksonville and started looking around, he did the “Joe Biden,” realized he didn’t know anyone, and then joined up with Cam Heyward and TJ Watt. pic.twitter.com/QuFoBF6Ghv

Biden initially ran against Donald Trump in the 2024 United States presidential election. But in July, four months before the election, Biden announced he would run again. This came after growing concerns about his health and performance in the first debate against Trump.

Kamala Harris, the Vice President under Biden, easily secured the Democratic nomination. Trump would defeat Harris in the election, becoming the second U.S. President (along with Grover Cleveland) to serve two non-consecutive terms.

Playing for the Green Bay Packers in the NFC most of his career, Rodgers certainly doesn’t have much experience against the Jaguars. But he did lead the Jets to a 32-25 road win in Duval County last season, throwing three touchdowns and no picks in arguably his best game with the AFC East club.

Aaron Rodgers & Steelers Won’t Face Jaguars In 2025

The Jaguars and Steelers are not scheduled to play in the 2025 regular season, so an Aaron Rodgers-Trevor Lawrence meeting could only happen in the playoffs. Of course, the rebuilding Jaguars are a long shot to make the postseason in a crowded AFC.

Rodgers and his new team will kick off the 2025 season against his old squad, the Jets, at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 7. That is also a revenge game for ex-Steelers QB Justin Fields, who signed a two-year deal with the Jets in free agency.
