The contract details between the Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have not been fully revealed yet, but it sounds like the Steelers are getting the veteran passer for a significant bargain.
Rodgers had said earlier this offseason in an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show that he told teams he’d play for $10 million, and it appears that number won’t be far off.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported on Good Morning Football on Friday that Rodgers’ one-year deal with the Steelers will have a base salary around $10 million, plus potential incentives.

The amount and nature of those incentives will have a big impact of Rodgers’ cap hit for the 2025 season, but the total should be no more than $20 million — a significant bargain for the veteran.
Only one other player signed this offseason to be a starting quarterback has an average annual value on their contract of less than $20 million, and that’s former Steelers starter Russell Wilson, who signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the New York Giants. Daniel Jones, who was signed to be a backup with the Indianapolis Colts, is making $14 million this year.
The Steelers will have plenty of cap space remaining after signing Rodgers, should the team continue to look to upgrade its wide receivers room, sign or trade for a tight end to replace the injured Donald Parham, or add another piece to another area of the team.
General manager Omar Khan will also be able to create significantly more cap space when the team eventually signs star outside linebacker T.J. Watt to a contract extension.
So the Rodgers signing might not be the last splash move for the Steelers this summer, as they continue to look to upgrade their roster.
