Former NFL linemen Mark Schlereth said on a recent podcast that he once had a conversation with Aaron Rodgers in which he went on a “diatribe” about the “dysfunction” of the New York Jets. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Aaron Rodgers, who is now with the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year contract, spent two disastrous in New York, leaving the Big Apple with just five wins, one torn Achilles, and hundreds of controversial headlines to show for it.

According to Schlereth, the seemingly perpetually perturbed future Hall of Fame quarterback vented to him about the “schematic” issues with the Jets offense.

The most absurd part about Rodgers’ alleged comments is that he was complaining about the offensive scheme — a scheme which was installed by Nathaniel Hackett, HIS buddy that the Jets clearly hired in order to land Rodgers in 2023.

“Aaron and I had a conversation about when he was with the Jets was how abysmal their running game was and how schematically it made no sense. I started the conversation, and then Aaron went on for about a 25-minute diatribe on just their run game,” Schlereth said on The Stinkin’ Truth Podcast.

“Time and time again I kept seeing things that are like that is just dumb like why would you do that? There’s no way you can be successful doing that. And so I asked Aaron about it, just about the run game in general, and I said, ‘Man, this is like it’s really bad this.’ and he went on this diatribe just about, you know, the dysfunction of what what we’re (Jets) trying to accomplish and all these different things.”

With Rodgers now in Pittsburgh, the Jets are turning to Justin Fields as their quarterback, who spent last season with the Steelers and started in six games for them. Coincidentally enough, the Jets will be hosting Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers in their Week 1 season opener on Sunday, September 7.

If I were Rodgers, I wouldn’t expect a warm welcome from the Gang Green faithful.
