The Jets have a short week. They will travel to Foxborough for a Thursday Night Football showdown against the New England Patriots in Week 11. Head coach Aaron Glenn isn’t tipping his hand about whether Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor will start at quarterback in that game.
This isn’t a huge surprise. Before the two previous games, Glenn declined to publicly announce a starter. There actually was some gamesmanship three weeks ago as the Jets approached their game in Cincinnati. Likely starter Tyrod Taylor was battling through a knee injury, which prevented him from playing. Struggling Justin Fields got the start and played a good game. It was pretty clear that Fields would start the game out of the bye against the Browns.
Fields struggled in the Jets’ win. Still, one might assume Glenn will stick with Fields after a win rather than make a quarterback change on a short week. If Fields struggles again, and the Jets lose to New England, we might be in for a week and a half of speculation.
